How Do I Choose A Wedding Reception Venue?
10/18/2022
One of the most important decisions you’ll make for your wedding is the venue for the reception. It needs to fit not only your guests, but also provide you all the services and amenities that you want and need. It’s more than just a big room to hold people, it’s a place where a once in a lifetime event will happen and you deserve the best.
It’s Bigger on the Inside?
How many people do you plan to even to your wedding? While many people choose to go to the wedding and then the reception, many will just go to the reception. It’s important that the venue be large enough to hold all your guests and few extra people that always end up tagging along. Be careful when looking at venues, because when you see them they’re likely empty. A large empty room likes like it can accommodate many people, but when you add in the tables, wedding cake area, DJ, dancefloor and more, that giant space gets smaller.
Do They Allow Outside Caterers?
Food is one of the most important aspects of any wedding reception. The venue has to accommodate your needs. For example, do you want a sit down or buffet style? Do you have to use their China or can your purchase clear plastic plates? Do you have to use their staff or can you hire an outside caterer. You can save money and make sure you get exactly what you want, but choosing the right caterer. When you enter into a contact with a venue that makes you use their catering, then you may end up paying more or getting food you don’t want.
Will They Work With You?
A wedding reception can be anything you want. It can be classy and elegant, relaxed and exciting or even themed. The reception is your visions from the color of the tablecloths to the gold plastic silverware. If you have a vision, then the venue should want to make that happen. Either they have what you need or are willing to get it for you. If you find a venue that isn’t flexible, then find a different place. Your wedding and reception will never happen again, so don’t compromise with what you want.
Don’t get stuck with a venue that you don’t like or can’t give you want you need. Choose the one that fits your needs.
